What Muslims believe about Jesus?

• His name is Esa in Arabic as well as in the Aramaic which is the language Jesus spoke.

• After saying his name Muslims say: Alayhis salaam, which means: peace be upon him.

• We believe him to be the Messiah that the Jewish scriptures spoke of and that the Jews were awaiting.

• We believe that he was one of the greatest prophets and messengers of God.

• We believe that he is the Word of God.

• We believe that he performed many miracles by God's permission.

• We believe that he was born of a virgin.

• We believe in his second coming.

• We love him as we love all other prophets before and after him which is Prophet Muhammad.

• A person who does not love Jesus and believes in him is not a Muslim.

• We do not believe that he was crucified but that God raised him to the heavens.

• We do not believe that Jesus is God or the son of God.

• We do not believe in a trinity or a duality.

• We firmly believe that like all prophets before and after him Jesus preached the Oneness of God and instructed his people to worship God alone.

• We believe that Mary is the best woman of the creation.
